I. Introduction to PSE certification
PSE certification is a compulsory safety certification in Japan. It is used to prove that electrical and electronic products have passed the safety standards test of the Japanese Electrical and Material Safety Law (DENAN Law) or international IEC standards. Japan's DENTORL Act (Electrical Device and Material Control Act) stipulates that 498 products must pass safety certification to enter the Japanese market. Among them, 165 types of A products should obtain the diamond-shaped PSE mark, and 333 types of B products should obtain the circular PSE mark. Since April 1, 2001, the Electrical Product Control Act (DENTORL) has been officially renamed the Electrical Product Safety Act (DENAN). Unlike the control of the agreement provisions of the previous regulatory system, the new system will ensure product safety by unofficial agencies.

Product range of PSE certification
The 165 types of A products are as follows:
Wires and cables, fuses, wiring appliances (electrical accessories, lighting appliances, etc.), current limiters, transformers, ballasts
Electric heating appliances, electric power application machinery (home appliances), electronic application machinery (high-frequency epilator)
Other electrical and mechanical equipment for AC (electrical insect killer, DC power supply unit), carrying engine
333 kinds of B products are divided into 7 parts:
1. Simple wiring sleeve and junction box;
2. Simple single-phase motor between 100V-300V;
3. Household electric heating products;
4. Household electric or video game products;
5. Civil or household products using light sources;
6. Household and commercial electronic products;
7. Other electrical products between 100V-300V.
Third, PSE certification needs to prepare materials
1. Application materials: business license, application form;
2. Test preparation information:
1) CB report (including Japan's difference test);
2) Circuit diagram (Layout);
3) PCB design drawings related to safety regulations;
4) specifications of transformers and coils;
5) List of key components and their certificates;
6) Japanese manual or assembly manual;
7) Japanese nameplate and warning sign (including PSE mark and notification of supplier name);
8) Structure data table;
9) A list and calibration certificate used in factory production.
3. Test samples: at least two models for the main inspection and one for each of the derived models.
Fourth, the validity period of the PSE certification
Type A diamonds are 3 years, 5 years, and 7 years (depending on the product)
Type B rounds are 1 year, 2 years, and 3 years (depending on the product)
